Student Engagement and Campus life team in Blacksburg, VA to help

join the Student Engagement and Campus Life (SECL) team; a
department centered on uplifting the student experience by
cultivating affirming environments, promoting holistic well-being,
and providing exceptional services, programs, and facilities. 2)
You’ll report to the Assistant Director for Student Center
Operations, in a Regular twelve-month, 100% Staff appointment. 3)
You’ll oversee the quality of the building operations and services
for three student center facilities (Squires, GLC, and Johnston
Student Center), Owens Ballroom, and War Memorial Chapel. The
manager focuses on quality assurance for evening and weekend events
and building operations. Additionally, the manager leads the
management and development of the Squires Student Center operations
student staff, including recruitment, training, evaluation, and
supervision. This position works collaboratively with the other
Operations team members to provide consistent weekly and long-term
building operations that support university and departmental needs
and demands; coordinates with other SECL functional areas to ensure
high-quality services are provided to students, patrons, and
guests; and directly supports customer service needs, and assesses
the quality of event setups and tidiness of the student centers. 4)

compensation package between $45,000-$50,000, along with a

much more! Required Qualifications -Bachelors degree and/or
equivalent related experience in Student Personnel Administration,
Facility Management, Business, or related field. -General
operations and/or facility management experience in a student
union, hospitality, community center, recreational center, or
related environment. -Experience in supervision, including but not
limited to recruiting, training, evaluating, and directing the work
of student staff members. -Operations management experience
including project management and building management. -Strong
organizational skills that include prioritizing tasks, managing
time effectively, and performing multiple functions simultaneously.
-Experience or training with cash/revenue management. -Demonstrated
knowledge of computer programs including Windows, Microsoft Office
Suite, or similar software. -Excellent interpersonal communication
skills with the ability to establish and maintain successful and
effective relationships with a diverse, multicultural student and
staff populations. -Ability to interpret, communicate, and
effectively enforce policies and regulations. -Demonstrated
knowledge of risk management practices. -Demonstrated ability to
operate autonomously and within a team-based environment. Preferred
Qualifications -Masters degree and/or equivalent related experience
in Student Personnel Administration, Facility Management, Business,
or a related field. -Experience directly supervising student
employees in an educational environment. -Experience in risk
management practices for a public facility. -Experience in basic
custodial or maintenance trades. Pay Band 4 Appointment Type
Regular Salary Information $47,000 - $50,000 Additional Information
- The successful candidate must have a background and license
checks demonstrating a safe driving record. - The work schedule is
M-F 11:00 AM-8:00 PM with evenings and weekends as needed. About
