Description: Job Summary:Manager of Professional Development
will partner with business leaders and HR colleagues to drive the
talent learning and development agendas for American National's
Retail, Operations and Corporate teams. Guides learning
professionals in partnering with business leaders to understand and
identify highest priority current and future business needs to
craft, build, and deliver world-class solutions and experiences to
enable learning that addresses those needs. Must thrive in a
fast-paced and collaborative environment, have a passion for
building scalable learning strategies and experiences, and bring a
creative and customer service mentality and approach to the
work.Duties/Responsibilities:
- Build close partnerships with American National Managers and HR
colleagues to understand imperatives, gain insights into critical
talent drivers for the organization, and consult on the appropriate
talent development agenda - annual training program for the Retail,
Operations and Corporate areas of the Bank.
- Leverage experience and background in instructional design and
adult learning to drive the creation and adoption of innovative and
cutting-edge, blended learning experiences utilizing digital,
video, audio, mobile, and experiential learning formats.
- Lead and manage learning professionals who consult, design,
develop, curate, and deliver learning solutions for American
National's Retail, Operations and Corporate team members.
- Partner with key business partners to identify and prioritize
points of leverage in learning for business impact and scope
learning needs for new initiatives to build out our learning and
development portfolio.
- Work with the CHRO to design and implement the measurement and
evaluation strategy to determine learning and development program
effectiveness; share results and partner with leaders to drive
improvements to enhance value, sustainability, and learner
impact.
- Represent learning in broader project efforts, ensuring an
early focus on the implementation needs to ensure effective
learning delivery in alignment with project goals and
timeline.
- Stay current with external trends, best practices, and
innovations and infuse these into the work products and consulting
offered to internal clients.
- Travel as needed (up to 30%) to Bank locations for meeting and
delivery of learning and development experiences and to
mentor/coach and develop other learning professionals.
- Champions the Bank's values and models the Bank's commitment to
DE&I, ensuring that professional development programs are
welcoming and inclusive as well as a superior learning and
development experience.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements: Required
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills with proven skill meeting
deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution
skills.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably in the
banking industry, requiring excellent organizational skills and
attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with
exceptional prioritization and delegation skills.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and public speaking skills
and orientation towards providing excellent customer service.
- Demonstrated experience creatively designing and implementing
effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize
performance in a Bank.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related
software.
- Proficiency with HRIS and talent management systems.Education
and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Adult Learning, Instructional
Design, or Organizational Design/Effectiveness; Master's degree
preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience working with business
leaders in a banking or other financial industry setting, with a
focus on client consulting to understand skill gaps.
- Experience in a role requiring incumbent to act with integrity,
professionalism, and confidentiality.
- 3+ years of facilitating manager and leadership content,
preferably in a banking or other financial industry setting.
- Experience working in a diverse and inclusive work culture that
focused on providing a positive employee experience, with a proven
track record in delivering learning and development programs to
diverse employee groups.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources OR Learning
and Development client consulting OR a combination.
- Minimum of 3 years of People Management experience.
- Hands on experience in managing and developing a corporate
training plan and working and managing a Learning Management System
(LMS).
- Experience in the financial industry (Banking) preferred.
- SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR, ASTD or other professional training
certifications highly desired.Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a
computer.
- Prolonged periods of walking around the classroom to deliver
training.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each branch or office and
