--- And much more---Position Summary:SOVAH Danville and Martinsville is seeking a full-time Laboratory Manager as an integral part of laboratory leadership, responsible for the clinical support and technical supervision of laboratory staff. Reporting directly to the Administrative Market Director of Laboratories, the laboratory manager coordinates laboratory operations to assure quality and regulatory compliance. This position applies advanced knowledge and experience to be a resourceful guide for laboratory staff, clients, and clinical associates. As a proactive leader, the laboratory manager, promotes and assures cooperative communication, prudent decision making, and appropriate solutions to challenges and obstacles. The laboratory manager is also responsible for assisting with the implementation of new policies and/or procedures, corrective actions, and is required to perform 'hands on' routine testing as the need arises. -

• Acts as the clinical and technical resource to team leaders and provides ongoing expertise to ensure quality of results and adherence to regulations and standards.
• Ensures the performance of QC, reviews QC data and the submission of the data to external sources.
• Supports team leaders in identifying, evaluating, and implementing new testing technologies and methodologies, aligned to best practices.
• Facilitates the validation and implementation of new instrumentation.
• Facilitates training of staff and students; and/or coordinates and conducts education and training for staff and students.
• Coordinates instrument troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
• Provides statistical summaries to Market Director regarding workload and performance indicators.
• Works in conjunction with other team members to prioritize, coordinate and complete area workload.
• Shares responsibility for staff scheduling.
• Other duties as assigned.
