Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) - New GradPosition Summary: - -

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment. -
• Documents patient care given. -
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. -
• Detects change in patient status, reports to appropriate health care team member and utilizes resources as dictated by the acuity. -
• Assigns priorities to the patient's problems with highest priority given to problems that are most urgent and critical. -
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. -
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. -
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. -

      Minimum Qualifications: -
      • Graduate of a professional school of nursing. Can practice as a RN Applicant per the Virginia Department of Health guidelines. -
      • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required. -
      • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within one year of employment. -
      • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. -
      • Verbal ability to present information and ideas related to nursing theory and practice. -
      • Ability to accept responsibility and accountability to prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care provided on assigned units as required with leadership qualities. -
