To better serve our communities growth SOVAH Danville Emergency Department is currently under a complete renovation to better serve our patients. The new Emergency Department will be a 31-bed unit with a 4:1 ratio for acute patients, with designated behavioral health safe rooms. Our Emergency Department provides care to patients across the lifespan for all medical emergencies. We are a designated Chest Pain Center & Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center. We are an academic teaching site for residents, medical students, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and physician assistants.                   Qualifications and requirements
                  Applicants should have a current VA (or Multi-state) RN license and possess a nursing degree from an accredited nursing school (Bachelors degree preferred). Additional requirements include:
                  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support
                    • Experience in clinical area preferred
                      • American Heart Association ACLS within 90 days of hire
                        • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association OR Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification
                          • Emergency Nurse Association (ENPC) required, or within six (6) months of hire
                            • Trauma Nurse Certification Course (TNCC) Emergency Nurse Association, preferred
                              • Required skills/abilities
                                • Time management
                                  • Work independently
                                    • Thorough knowledge of ED throughput
                                      • Multi-tasking
                                        • Adaptable to constant change
                                          • Effective communication with all members of the healthcare team
