Orthopedic Registered Nurse (RN)Job Summary: AnOrthopedic
Registered Nurse (RN)provides specialized care to patients
undergoing orthopedic surgeries or treatment for musculoskeletal
conditions. The RN focuses on assessing, planning, implementing,
and evaluating care for patients recovering from orthopedic
procedures such as joint replacements, fractures, spinal surgeries,
and other musculoskeletal disorders. Key Responsibilities: -
Assess, plan, and provide post-operative and non-surgical care to
patients with orthopedic conditions, including joint replacements,
fractures, and musculoskeletal disorders. - Administer pain
management, medications, and wound care to patients post-surgery. -
Monitor patients’ progress, ensuring proper healing, mobility, and
pain control. - Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physical
therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and
implement individualized care plans. - Educate patients and their
families on post-operative care, rehabilitation, and prevention of
complications. - Assist with the use of orthopedic equipment such
as braces, splints, and traction devices. - Monitor and manage
conditions like deep vein thrombosis (DVT), wound healing,
infections, and mobility issues. - Assist with the application and
removal of casts, orthopedic devices, and supports. - Provide
guidance and support to patients as they undergo physical therapy
and rehabilitation. - Document patient care, treatments, and
outcomes in accordance with established protocols and regulatory
requirements. - Respond to orthopedic-related emergencies, such as
wound infections or orthopedic device malfunctions. - Advocate for
patients, ensuring they receive timely access to orthopedic care
and follow-up services. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor of
Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing
(ADN) accepted. - Licensure: - Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
in the state of practice. - Certification: - Basic Life Support
(BLS) certification required. - Orthopedic Nurse Certification
(ONC) preferred. - Experience: Prior experience in orthopedic
