Job Description HonorVet Technologies is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Burlington, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 07/29/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – MS/Tele Location: Alamance Regional Medical Center, Cone Health Address: 1240 Huffman Mill Rd, Burlington, NC 27215 Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: 07/29/2025 Shift: Nights – 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) Schedule: Every other weekend/Every other holiday coverage Unit: 2C General Surgery (Medical-Surgical / Telemetry) Facility & Unit Information: - Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics - Daily Census: Approx. 27 patients - Number of Beds: 29 - Patient Ratio: 1:5-6 - Unit Type: General Surgery with telemetry remote monitoring capabilities - Patient Diagnoses: Medical overflow patients, general surgical pre/post-op care, excluding true cardiac cases but including patients on Bipap and drips - Support Services: IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary Job Requirements: - Licensure: Active NC or Compact RN License (license in hand required with submission) - Experience: Minimum 2 years as RN; Charge RN experience preferred - Certifications: - BLS (Required) - ACLS (Preferred) - EMR: Epic experience required - Skills: - Telemetry remote monitoring experience required - IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care and management - Accessing ports, PICC line management, starting IVs - Blood product administration, central line blood draws - Respiratory skills: CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), tracheostomy management, oxygen therapy - Gastrointestinal care: colostomy, feeding tube management - Medication management including heparin, insulin (IV insulin protocols), PCA - Wound care, wound vac management - Use of rapid response teams and isolation precautions - Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers welcome) - Flexibility: Must float to all Cone Health campuses as needed Work Environment: - Night shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week - Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage - Patient ratios capped at 6 patients per nurse to maintain care standards - Team-oriented interdisciplinary support - Mandatory EKG pass/fail exam during compliance with 2 attempts allowed About HonorVet Technologies HonorVet Technologies: Pioneering Purpose, Empowering Heroes Founded in 2015, HonorVet Technologies stands as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), proudly certified by NaVOBA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
