Job Title: Neurodiagnostic Tech I Profession: Neurodiagnostic Tech Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable 3x12 hours Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience for High School diploma or GED; no prior experience required for completion of an acceptable program in neurophysiology. License: Registry eligible for one of the following specialty areas: EEG, EP, Intra-Operative Monitoring, Nerve Conduction Velocity studies, Polysomnography, Registered Sleep Technologist. Certifications: - Must-Have: Graduation from an acceptable program of Neurophysiology. Description: Performs diagnostic patient testing including electroencephalogram (EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction velocities (NCV), sensory evoked potentials (EP), and polysomnographic testing. May include oxygen therapy and continuous positive air pressure treatments (CPAP). Performs room and equipment set-up and placement in hospital rooms, operating rooms, or clinics. Calibrates and maintains equipment. Reads and scores neurodiagnostic and/or polysomnographic tests. Takes patient histories. Provides instruction to patients and families regarding test preparation, pre-test interviews, and follow-up appointments.
