How you'll contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role: - Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment. - Documents patient care given. - Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. - Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. - Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. - Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. - Maintains competency in the area of IABP insertion and application. What we're looking for The right person will provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice before, during, and after cardiac catheterization and special procedures. Primarily responsible for the care of patients undergoing diagnostic and Interventional cardiac catheterizations. The RN is responsible for assisting in all procedures, providing patient education, assessment and monitoring, administering medications and participating in performance improvement activities. Applicants should have a current state RN. Additional requirements include: - Graduate of a professional school of Nursing. - AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Two years critical care or emergency room nursing experience desired.
