An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room to provide high-quality perioperative care in a dynamic acute-care hospital setting in Danville, VA. This contract position supports a facility licensed for 220 beds that serves the surrounding region with comprehensive surgical and specialty services. The role involves collaborating with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes throughout all phases of operative care. Responsibilities include: - Preparing operating rooms and ensuring sterilization and readiness of surgical instruments - Assisting surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals during procedures - Monitoring patient vital signs and responses during surgery - Implementing infection control protocols and safety standards - Documenting nursing care and maintaining accurate patient records - Participating in continuous quality improvement and staff development activities Qualifications and desired experience: - Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with perioperative/Operating Room experience - Proficient knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile techniques - Ability to function effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment - Strong teamwork and communication skills - Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred - Willingness to comply with drug screening and criminal background consent requirements The contract provides an opportunity to work in a facility renowned for its surgical services and commitment to community health, supported by a team of over 700 staff and more than 100 healthcare professionals.
