About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with TalentBurst,
Inc. to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Winston-Salem, North
Carolina, 27101! Primary Purpose The Registered Nurse – Resource
Team provides comprehensive nursing care through skillful
assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning,
implementation, and evaluation in accordance with facility or
department policies, procedures, and/or protocols under the
supervision of the nursing leader. The RN Clinical Nurse/RT assists
in maintaining a safe work environment and performs all related job
responsibilities in a safe manner. The Registered Nurse – Resource
Team maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate
to the population of patients served. Must be available to provide
nursing services in all patient care areas of expertise and
knowledge, at all elected facilities. A registered nurse's practice
is guided by the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive
Statements. Major Responsibilities Collects pertinent data and
information relative to the healthcare consumer's health or the
situation. Analyzes the assessment data to determine the actual or
potential diagnoses, problem, and issues. Identifies expected
outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or
the situation. Develops a plan that prescribes strategies to attain
expected, measurable outcomes. Implements the identified plan,
coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health
and a safe environment. Delegates elements of care to appropriate
healthcare workers in accordance with any applicable legal or
policy parameters or principles. Evaluates progress toward
attainment of goals and outcomes. Practices ethically. Practices in
a manner that is congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion
principles. Communicates effectively in all areas of practice.
Collaborates with healthcare consumers and other key stakeholders
in the conduct of nursing practice. Leads within the professional
practice setting and the profession. Seeks knowledge and competence
that reflects current nursing practice and promotes futuristic
thinking. Integrates evidence and research findings into practice.
Contributes to quality nursing practice. Evaluates one's own and
others' nursing practice in relation to professional practice
standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules and regulations.

Blvd. Winston-Salem, NC 27103 885 licensed beds Level 1 Trauma
Designation Teaching Hospital: Yes, Academic Medical Center Chest
Pain Center Stroke Center Unit Information: Beds: 20 beds total, 10
in 5A and 10 in 5B Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years of
MedSurg experience Will you accept a first-time traveler? No
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Transitional Care Unit General
MedSurg: CHF, COPD, kidney/liver/GI/respiratory issues, CIWA
patients, infections, wounds, etc. Mostly medical patients seen on
this unit, but any service line can admit, so could see some
general surgeries and other patients Patient Ratios: 1:5 Required
License, National Certification, Certs: BLS, ACLS Skills required:
Trachs, chest tubes, IV starts, wound care, dressing changes, wound
vacs, drains, cardiac rhythm interpretation (will check off on
strips during shift), central line blood draws Non-titrating Drips
(required): Heparin, Lasix, Protonix Non-titrating Drips
(preferred): Cardizem, Amiodarone (please note in offer if they
have this experience. Can teach here if no experience) Support
within the Department: 1 CNA for 5A, 1 CNA for 5B 1 Charge to cover
both areas, could take patients if needed Receptionist/HUC? No
Phlebotomy 24/7 – RNs could collect labs as well RT 24/7
Hospitalist 24/7 Residents 24/7 Telemetry monitoring/tech? Bedside
monitors w/ central monitor at nurses' station
Technology/Equipment: EMR: EPIC IV Pump: Alaris Med dispensing:
Omnicell Floating: Could float within scope of practice at hospital
Orientation (facility and unit): NEO 2 shifts on unit to orient
Scheduling: Weekend rotation: Every other On call? No Holiday
Expectations: 50% of holidays in contract Approval of RTO: ok to
approve up to 7 days Shift times: 0630-1900 Schedule cycle:
Scheduler will make schedule 6-week increments. Travelers will be
plugged into holes in the schedule Do not allow traveler overtime
