Job Description Registered Nurse (RN) Vascular Access Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p (no call/no weekends). How you'll contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role: - Responsible for the insertion of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC). Provide maintenance and follow-up care for PICC lines and central lines. - Initiates training and education for nursing staff, patient/family as required. - Performs assessment skills. - Plans nursing care. - Intervenes with appropriate action after needs are identified. - Evaluates the assessment, planning and intervention process. - Provides specialized knowledge, assessment, and skills in clinical setting in regards to obtaining vascular access, maintaining vascular access and troubleshooting vascular access devices. - Performs the appropriate application of the device algorithm. - Performs ultrasound guided peripheral IV starts. - Administers Cath Flow for obstructed lines, per physician order. What we're looking for Applicants must be a graduate of a professional school of nursing Should have a current VA RN license or compact state Additional requirements include: American Heart Association Basic Life Support American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within one year of employment.
