Child & Family Community-Based CounselorFull-Time position serving the Danville, VA region**$1500 signing bonus**The pandemic has left vulnerable people groups even more vulnerable, and the need for mental health services is more staggering than ever before! Strategic Therapy Associates is seeking compassionate and resilient clinicians to provide community-based mental health services for at-risk children, youth, and families in Virginia. If you have the heart to help people in difficult life situations in the midst of these challenging times, and if you are one who can bring calm to chaos, we welcome you to apply!Our Counselors work with at-risk children/adolescents and their families in their homes in order to resolve the issues that are putting the children in an at-risk status, eliminating cause for out-of-home placement. They help empower families to resolve their own problems and help restore appropriate hierarchy within the household, putting the parents back in loving charge of the children. We use the Strategic Family Therapy treatment model in our work with families, and clinical supervision is geared from that perspective.Strategic Therapy Associates is a change-oriented, community-based behavioral health provider who has been providing mental health services in Virginia since 1994. We address a variety of problems including abuse, neglect, court-related problems, and other mental health issues. We strive to keep children with their families and avoid the need for out-of-home placement. Our services include: intensive in-home, mental health skill-building, crisis intervention and stabilization, therapeutic mentoring, and parent aid services.At Strategic, you will:

    • Provide community-based therapeutic mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families.
    • Empower clients to resolve the issues that can lead to out-of-home and/or out-of-community placements, or that may result in institutionalization if not effectively remedied via lesser restrictive measures.
    • Establish rapport quickly and employ creative appropriate therapeutic techniques to best meet the needs of the individual client.
    • Be hopeful, optimistic, flexible open-minded and willing to adjust practice for the betterment of their clients.Required Education and Qualification:
      • Bachelor's degree in the human services field (Social work, Psychology, Counseling or other qualified human service degree) (OR) a Masters degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy or Psychology.
      • Applicants must qualify to register with the VA Board of Counseling as a (QMHP-T) Qualified Mental Health Professional- Trainee or QMHP-Child. Please visit this link for more information: https://www.dhp.virginia.gov/counseling/counseling_QMHP.htm.
      • Requires a valid Driver's License, reliable vehicle, auto insurance, good driving record & willingness to transport clients within the community.Benefits:

Licensure supervision is offered to masters-level staff at Strategic working in the intensive in-home program and is based on supervisor availability and after a period of employment (as determined by the director) in which the potential "resident" has been observed in clinical skill and in interactions in regular clinical supervision.Pay: From $30.00 per service unitNote: **Most clinicians make on average of $37,000 - 45,000/year depending on productivity level
