    Job Duties
    This is a PRN position (up to 28 hours/week) with no benefits. The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental services support individuals by promoting recovery, self-determination, and wellness in all aspects of life. DBHDS operates 12 facilities: 8 behavioral health facilities for adults, a training center, a psychiatric facility for children and adolescents, a medical center, and a center for behavioral rehabilitation. State facilities provide highly structured, intensive services for individuals with mental illness, intellectual disability, or need substance use disorder services. DBHDS is committed to a life of possibilities for all Virginians. This position will work at Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute, a 72-bed Joint Commission accredited State Mental Health Facility, located in Danville, VA. DBHDS is seeking dedicated, experienced Registered Nurse Professionals. A Registered Nurse II at DBHDS is responsible for providing advanced nursing care for patients with psychiatric disorders in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, as well as nursing standards and regulations.Registered Nurses are also responsible for safely implementing the use of Seclusion/Restraints including knowledge of physical/emotional risk factors of the patients served at the facility.     Minimum Qualifications
    Experience working as a Registered Nurse.License or eligibility for license to practice as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions.Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing.Computer skills, including electronic health records.A valid driver's license is required and must remain valid throughout employment.
    Additional Considerations
    Experience working with individuals with mental illness, substance misuse disorders and/or involvement in the judicial system.Veterans and people with National Service.Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.
